Fantastic pizza "Off the Beaten Path" on the Hatfield and McCoy Trail


Believe it or not but some of the best pizza you will ever taste is now available in a Mexican restaurant  that is way, way off the beaten path at one of the top destinations for 4-wheeling in America. Ole Jose is a well known watering hole and restaurant for off roaders and bikers visiting the famous Hatfield and McCoy ATV Trails in Pineville West Virginia.  Already a local favorite but now they just added a revolving wood burning brick oven and completed pizza making training in NYC at the world renown Goodfella's Pizza School. Yes Carlos is now creating masterpieces daily and looking forward to demonstrating his technique while you relax after a long day on the trails with a cold one.  Nothing beats a freshly prepared pizza cooked in a wood burning brick oven with the magnificent location in the middle of the West Virginia mountains. Julius Dilligard Jr. of Crown Hights Affair live at

When you have a friend of such of such incredible talent it's easy to take it for granted and forget the sheer power and emotion of his performance, that is until you are in it. I was having a cup of coffee at Starbucks this morning when the song Superfly by Curtis Mayfield came on and got my feet tapping and body moving when I immediately thought of Julius Dilligard rocking it in several venues I have seen him perform in.  From His top 40 hits with the Crown Heights Affair to his joyous soul lifting ballads, this man delivers-always.With his effusive smile and unabashed laugh you can't help but have a good time in his presence and when he hits the stage its an incredible ride where you witness something of depth and power, a pure aesthetic and true communication. If you ever get the rare opportunity to see him live you will understand what it means to be moved and taken into another world. I salute you Julius for both your talent and continued humanitarian endeavors I am fortunate indeed to know you sir. Marc Cosentino Goodfella's Staten Island Ny.

Andrew Scudera International Pizza Expo Champion and great guy!

I have known Andy for 19 years and watched him go from bus boy to driver to chef to pizza-man to manager to co-owner of the Original Goodfella's Pizza on Staten Island to International Pizza Expo World Champion. What amazes me most about this man is his incredible grace under fire and ability to get the job done no matter the circumstance. In an age where the role models in this country are more and more degraded and self absorbed it is becoming rare to find men of integrity who care about others and being a team player. Perhaps it is his wonderful close-knit family or the fact that he, his brother and their dad are all Eagle Scouts but whatever it is he is a man you count on and one that takes great pride in work. Fast Casual Gourmet Pizza Revolution

20 years ago a little place in Staten called Goodfella's Brick Oven Pizza was pioneering it's gourmet pizza chain and became the David to many a Giant Chain by winning national and then international acclaim with it's award winning Vodka Pie that soon became a national trend. Never waiting for something to happen the Cosentino brothers opened restaurants across the country and started the top pizza school now training the latest generation of pizza makers from around the world. The passion for pizza runs deep and the Italian desire to build things of stone and mortar got the best of them as they began filling orders for hand built brick ovens. From their orginal 8ft. cooking surface oven(one of the biggest if not the biggest in NYC) to adding a second 5ft. oven in the original store on Hylan Blvd. they continually looked for faster and better production to keep up with the demand. They even built a brick oven in the basement of one of their places just to handle delivery and a huge double opening oven in their Brooklyn restaurant to have 2 men dedicated to working the oven at all times. The latest advancement they are bring to the table is the first revolving deck brick oven with a patented  heated floor that burns both wood and gas cooking pizza at an easily  controllable and constant temperature. Presidential Pizza

From Staten Island NY to the Presidential Yacht to prepare dinner, wow! Looking back at some of the places and people we have cooked pizza for and delivered to it seems pretty amazing. From jumping in to help cook at Gracie Mansion during an event for Mayor Giuliani, delivering a Vodka pizza to President Bush at the republican convention, delivering pizza's to the Yankees at Yankee Stadium, Tom Cruise, Z100,  having Govenor Pataki cooking in our oven, rescue workers, children and all our friends this has been wild. The thing I love about pizza is that EVERYBODY LOVES PIZZA.  Goodfella's brick oven pizza is famliy and fun and pride in cooking, come on by and happy pizza to you!

International Pizza Expo Winner

Come to the original Goodfella's located on 1718 Hylan Blvd to try the latest award winning creation, "The Tequila Pizza" made with Fresh Mozzarella, Pancetta, Shrimp, and a Tequila Sauce made from Patron Tequila, then garnished with a fresh homemade Mango Salsa.  Deliciously refreshing.  The pizza took top honors at the Las Vegas Pizza Expo in 2012, making this a 3rd International Win for Goodfella's Hylan. Fugettaboutit! Suport the troops that support you.

Perhaps being a USAF veteran and having a father that was a US Marine have influenced me a bit but I am always humbled and honored when I meet a United States soldier.

 Taking the oath of enlistment: "I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." is a big deal. 

 Enlisting, moving far away from your home and family with the distinct possibility of becoming a prisoner, mamed or killed in action in as even bigger deal. On occasion we at Goodfella's get to take care of these fine people that are sacrificing for our freedom and we consider it an honor to cook  pizza in our brick oven for them and do what little we can to make their lives a little more comfortable or enjoyable while letting them that we care and respect them. 

When we received this photo from the Commander telling us he " got our backs" it was very touching and is one of those great moments. God bless America and all it stands for.
